AgAdvocate Application

Ag Advocates are undergraduates who have been chosen to represent Penn State and the College of Agricultural Sciences at activities throughout the year. They help to inform the public about the college and the diversity of the agricultural sciences.

Ag Advocates have many opportunities to develop communications and public relations skills. They interact with business and industry professionals and work with University faculty, staff, and administrators. They represent the College of Agricultural Sciences at various events and programs, including:

  • Ag Progress Days
  • Campus tours
  • College development and alumni activities
  • Dean’s receptions
  • New student orientation
  • Open House Events
  • Parents Weekend
  • Pennsylvania Farm Show
  • Student-to-student phonathon
  • Special college functions

Ag Advocates gain knowledge of agricultural research, teaching, and extension programs at Penn State. They promote the Nittany Lion spirit and develop valuable public-speaking and leadership skills.

The Ag Advocate Program is open to all students regardless of race, color, sex, or national origin. New advocates are selected during the spring semester.
